A cool night, with wind that gusted pretty well in the morning. Continued drive east, seeing many interesting things along the way. Will add pictures soon, thanks for visiting and for your patience!
Highlights:
Had a nice time camping, but awoke to some very strong winds and light rain. Learned later that another section of the park had hail! But earlier in the evening, the sky show was fantastic! It was so dark, as the campsite was in an area with no towns in site. I have never seen so many stars! And since this was the night before the peak of the Geminids meteor shower, I saw many meteors through the evening. A wonderful and magic night!
Drove through areas of Big Bend National Park I had not seen the previous day. Hiked into a canyon on the southwest section of the park carved out by the Rio Grande, and of course, touched the water! The echo in the canyon was interesting.
While driving through the park, saw a golden eagle, as well as a road runner that almost was not fast enough to cross the road in front of me. Where is Acme when you need them?!?
Watched as a couple of B1 bombers crossed over the road and flew off into the distance. There is quite a but of open space with huge ranches, and mountains also appear throughout the area.
