Hello from Dawson City, Y. T.!

Start time: N/A

Start odometer: N/A

I decided to stay in Dawson City and see more of the sights.  I was also contemplating on whether or not to take the Dempster Highway to Inuvik!  This is a town in the Northwest Territory, and  north of the Artic Circle.  The road is not the greatest, but a drive up would allow some viewing of what makes the highway famous in these parts.

I will update this page as soon as possible.  Had a great day, and got to see Cheryl and Guy again!

To be added soon!

This panel describes the North West Mounted Police residence in the next picture.

This was the North West Mounted Police commanding officer residence.

On the streets of Dawson City!

The next few pictures were taken to test the sepia mode of my camera.

the Red Feather Saloon.

This is a view towards the northwest.  The remnants of a landslide can be seen in the background.

The famous Diamond Tooth Gerties!

The historic Dawson City Post Office.

The Jack London Square, an area with an interpretive center and parts of the building lived in by Jack London when he worked his claim in Klondike.

This cabin and cache are set up similar to how Jack London lived.

Another view of the cabin, where actual logs from the original cabin were used in construction.

The interior of the cabin, looking at the back wall.

Looking inside to the left.

A side view of the cabin.

Doris, from Vancouver, working at the historic Post Office.  I enjoyed our conversation, and thanks for all the information!
