A cute little chapel along the side of the road.

I found the flowers along the side of the road very pretty in Charlevoix.

My ferry ride to Mackinac Island.

Mackinac bridge.

A lighthouse at the entrance to Mackinac Island.

The Grand Hotel from the ferry.

The Biddle House, on the island.

Historical marker describing the Biddle House.

Historical marker about the island.

Pretty house heading west on the street along the shoreline.

Another pretty house.

Nice flowers on the lamp post.

At 660 feet, this is longest porch in the world...The Grand Hotel.

The hotel was preparing for an event.

Another look at the front of the hotel.

Historical marker mentioning the story of the railroad involvement in building the hotel.

As scene of the street leading to the front of the hotel.

The entrance to Fort Mackinaw.

From the fort. looking towards the Mackinaw Bridge.

The ferry dock.

I met these three wonderful women giving a quilt making demonstration.  They were very helpful in suggesting some sites for me to see.

On the island, there is a house that is filled with butterflies of all kinds.  The walk through was wonderful.  The following pictures show some of the butterflies in the building.  It was a neat experience.

The wingspan of this one was about eight inches!

Back on the main street after a quick shower.

Street cleaners!

A look back at the island from the ferry.  Notice the bike rental equipment!

We passed around a barge on our return to the mainland.

Another look at this very long barge.
